Initial Idea 1

One of many interesting areas of study, that are associated with Software Engineering, for me, is

Website Application Development. 

The difference between Website Development and Website Application Development is important to understand.

Website Development focuses on displaying information to the end user of the website. It needs to be presented well, so it catches user's attention.

Website Application Development is the process of developing an application, which can be accessed through any internet browser. It requires a web server, application server and a database. 

Tools such as JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 are usually involved in front-end process of Web App where Python, Ruby and Java commonly take part in programming on the server-side of the application (Techtarget, 2022)

Developing a website application carries various benefits, such as:

  • It is not necessary to download the app
  • It can be accesses through almost any device with internet access
  • Saves space on hardware

Nowadays we encounter web apps almost everyday. There is a number of examples, these are:

  • Gmail
  • Facebook
  • Netflix
  • Deliveroo
  • Spotify
  • Aliexpress

  This is the main window inside Python software. On the top left corner you can see the name of the file along with ' .py ' which is python's files extension. Next to it, a file path is located (describes where the file is locate within the hard drive) Below you can see a tab with a few options such as file, edit, format, run, options, window and help. This is an example of python's code. As you can see, certain words have particular colours. For example, orange means that python recognizes a keyword. purple means an in-built function is triggered. Colour green means that a message will be displayed to the user. The numbers on the left tell you which line the code is written in. The number in the bottom right corner followed by "Ln:" informs the python's user of the amount of lines written in current file.
