Operating Systems and Networks is a broad area in computer science.

Operating System (O.S) is a software that provides services to the applications software using hardware components (AfterAcademy, 2020).

Network is a group of at least two devices or nodes, that can communicate between each other. The scale of a network varies, it can be just a network of two devices, a big data structure or the biggest network out there - the Internet (Techopedia 2020).

Network Operating System is a computer operating system that is used to connect and communicate autonomous computers. Users can share data, applications even if they run on different O.S.. The biggest advantage of Network O.S. is remote access with secure connections (Afteracademy, 2020).

Network O.S. can be divided into two main groups:

  1. Peer-to-Peer
  2. Client-Server

Peer-to-Peer

It is a Network O.S where all devices or nodes are on the same level, no entity is superior to another. There is no centralised management and the devices or nodes are directly connected to each other in the network.

Client-Server

This Network O.S has a centralised management. It is based on a powerful computer that administrates the network and all users. The clients send requests for data to the server and receive it back, securely.

  This is the main window inside Python software. On the top left corner you can see the name of the file along with ' .py ' which is python's files extension. Next to it, a file path is located (describes where the file is locate within the hard drive) Below you can see a tab with a few options such as file, edit, format, run, options, window and help. This is an example of python's code. As you can see, certain words have particular colours. For example, orange means that python recognizes a keyword. purple means an in-built function is triggered. Colour green means that a message will be displayed to the user. The numbers on the left tell you which line the code is written in. The number in the bottom right corner followed by "Ln:" informs the python's user of the amount of lines written in current file.
